Octopus. Octopusses. Octopi. Challenge members quite simply blew me away this week, and you'll find this is one of the longest Tania's Picks ever--so very many images resonated so deeply with me.
Not only did the artwork stun me, the inspiration and contributions were truly mindblowing. This was another one of those weeks where the theme either failed to inspire me, or totally intimidated me. And this is why I chose it--because this it's what's important about this Challenge. To stretch ourselves. And indeed, it stretched me.
I saw a wonderful meme recently. It said something along on the lines of:
Did you make some art? YES NO
Is it good? YES NO
Is it bad? YES NO
You are an artist.
Make some more art.
This is how I see this Challenge. As a way to connect with our inner artist (and we ALL have one), and along the way, connect with our deepest core: our creativity. I'm hoping, by the end of the Challenge, I won't once say I hate my own work. I hope my beautiful Challenge friends achieve the same thing.

I can understand how difficult that must have been. It was such a fun theme. I myself have a new fondness for the octopus now :-)
