MND Fundraising Art Sale - Art with Heart






Our much loved and valued Challenge member Vanessa Pritchard has recently been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) along with her triplet Mandy. She lost her other triplet Emma three years ago and sadly last year, also lost her mum to this horrid disease.

To show our support to Vanessa, we are running an MND ART SALE, with ALL monies raised going toward MND Research.

HOW YOU CAN HELP...

We’d love you to donate an original or print of your Challenge Artwork (or more than one!) to be listed and sold via Motor Neurone Disease NSW’s (MND NSW) Shopify site: (www.online.mndnsw.asn.au)

The MND ART SALE will commence 8pm Wednesday 6 April 2016.

All artworks will have a set sale price (this is not an auction) and to be paid for via MND NSW Shopify site - www.online.mndnsw.asn.au .

The MND ART SALE is open to all Challenge members worldwide.
We are asking that sellers nominate what countries they are willing to send their artwork to (as they will be donating the postage charges)

TO PURCHASE ARTWORK:

The MND ART SALE will commence 8pm Wednesday 6 April 2016.

Simply follow the links within Shopify to purchase the artwork you are interested in.  The money will go directly to MND NSW. Admin will notify the seller of the completed sale along with the buyer’s postal address.

Please do not contact the seller directly – we will contact them with your postal address and receipt of payment.

TO SELL ARTWORKS:

In addition to donating artwork (original or print) we are also asking sellers to donate the cost of postage to the buyer. You can choose whether you are happy to post in Australia only or international countries. All monies raised will go directly to MND Research.

Each artwork MUST have the following information along with a JPEG image. Please cut and paste information below in a word document and email along with your artwork images to 52weekchallenge(AT)nickyjohnston.com.au before midnight 23 March 2016.

Artworks for sale may be originals or prints but MUST BE SOLD AND POSTED UNFRAMED. Matting is optional.  If selling original artwork, the medium should be stated. If a print, the type of printing (giclée or standard Office Works print) should be stated, along with any limited edition information. Providing a limited edition certificate is optional. (see GLOSSARY for descriptions)

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
By listing to donate your work in this MND ART SALE, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1.       Your artwork is your own and doesn’t infringe on any copyright or trademark. It is original or a quality print.
2.       Your artwork has been previously posted to the Challenge wall as part of the 52-Week Illustration Challenge.
3.       The artwork info you provide Challenge admin is accurate.
4.       The seller is responsible for honouring the sale and posting the artwork within a week of selling. The seller agrees to cover the postage costs of sending artwork to the buyer.
5.       The buyer is responsible for registering their correct postage details and making payment via the MND NSW Shopify page.
6.       The 52-Week Challenge takes no responsibility for unpaid items or lost or damaged artworks. This will remain the responsibility for both the buyer and the seller and we regret that we cannot act as an intermediary at any time.
7.       We regret that we cannot advise what members should charge for their artwork, however we suggest that you set your price to reflect the spirit of this fundraiser and the aim to raise as much as possible toward MND Research.



GLOSSARY
ORIGINAL artwork
The original artwork is traditionally created. It is either the original hand drawn, painted, inked, pencilled, collaged piece of work. Usually a higher end price because it is a one off original piece of art.

GICLEE print
Giclée has come to be associated with particular types of inkjet printing including processes that use fade-resistant, archival inks (pigment-based), and archival substrates primarily produced on Canon, Epson, HP and other large-format printers. They are quite expensive to produce which is why they cost more to purchase.

LIMITED EDITION print
Limited edition means that there are only a certain number of prints created. (Edition quantity decided by the artist) Usually a Giclée print, it is identical to the original and signed, dated along with its edition number. Example: if the Limited Edition print is 30, then each of the prints will have 1/30, 2/30, 3/30 etc... Once this quantity has been sold, no further prints will be produced, making it second to buying an original.

ORDINARY prints (eg: Officeworks)
These prints are done on regular printers and are not guaranteed to be archival inks. They may fade over time. They are quite inexpensive to create.





FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When does the SALE start?
The sale will commence 8pm Wednesday 6 April 2016. All times are AEST – Australian Eastern Standard Time (Sydney time). There will be a week of pre-sale viewing from the 30 March to the 6 April.

What currency is the SALE listed in?
All prices are listed in Australian dollars (AU$).

Will the buyer have to pay postage?
No, the seller will be donating the postage costs. The seller will list their location and where they are prepared to send the artwork to.

SELLER QUESTIONS:

When do I have to send my artwork photo and description?
All jpegs and item description (Cut and paste into a word document) must be emailed before or on Wednesday 23 March. Please email Nicky with description details and photo to 52weekchallenge(AT)nickyjohnston.com.au

Do I need to take new photo of my illustration?
No, you can use your photo that you uploaded on the Challenge wall.

Can I sell artwork not done for the Challenge?
No. This sale is ONLY for artwork created for the Challenge themes 2014, 2015 or 2016 (including bonus themes).

Will I get paid for postage costs?
No. We are asking sellers to ‘donate’ postage charges as part of their artwork donation. Remember this is a fundraising event and ALL money raised will go directly to MND Research.

You can nominate whether you are happy to post AUST and/or International countries – it is up to you where you are prepared to send your artwork.

To work out rough idea of postage costs you will incur, you will need to know the size and weight dimensions of the envelope or tube you plan to use. Remember that all items must be sent in a way that will not damage the artwork, so you should also factor in the weight of strong card.
Add the relevant information about your parcel and it will give you postage options.

We highly recommend registered post for tracking purposes.

How do I know when my item has SOLD?
You will be notified by Challenge Admin when your artwork has been sold along with the postal details of the buyer.

When do I send my artwork?
You can send your artwork as soon as you have received notification and the buyer’s postal address.

What if my artwork doesn’t sell?
You don’t have to organise anything.

What if someone wins the artwork and then decides they don’t want it, or what if I never hear from them at all?
We have set a three day change of mind policy in the Terms and Conditions on the Shopify site. If someone decides they no longer want the work, it will be re-added as available for sale on the site.

Can I add some artwork after the due date?
No. All artworks to be listed in the MND ART SALE must be received by Wednesday 23 March 2016.

Can I withdraw the artwork from the SALE? (if it has been sold elsewhere)
No. This artwork needs to be available for the length of the sale. Please don’t list elsewhere. If you have a legitimate reason for wanting to withdraw the artwork, please be in touch with admin.

BUYER QUESTIONS:

When can I start bidding?
Shopping will start at 8pm Wednesday 6 April 2016. We will post START SHOPPING notification on the Challenge Facebook Page and Challenge Wall to remind everyone that the sale has begun. All time is set as Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time.

I want an artwork. What do I do?                                                                                     
Go to the MND NSW Shopify site (www.online.mndnsw.asn.au ) and purchase the work.  If you are not already registered with Shopify, when prompted ensure that the address you provide is the best postal address for the artwork to be sent to.  Save a copy of your receipt.  The Admin will exchange the relevant details to the seller to ensure that artworks are posted soon after the date of the sale.

What if I buy the artwork and then decide I don’t want it?
We suggest purchase carefully, as this will be a huge disappointment to any seller. If you genuinely can no longer buy the item, be in touch with us ASAP to let us know. 

How do I pay for the artwork?
All prices will be listed in AU$. Payment can ONLY be made via www.online.mndnsw.asn.au
